Berry Green Smoothie
This Berry Green Smoothie is perfect if you are looking for a nutritious snack. It is filled with green goodness such as spinach leaves, avocado and hemp seeds, making it high in good fats that help stabilise sugar levels and prevent sugar cravings. I often make a smoothie in the morning and drink it for morning tea or afternoon tea. If you’re not drinking your smoothie straight away be sure to keep it in the fridge so it keeps its nutritional goodness.
Adding the berries adds a little more deliciousness making it easily enjoyed by kids especially as an after school snack. The great thing about this recipe is that it can be used to make all sorts of different flavours. Let seasonality guide you and be sure to give it a go with bananas, pineapple, passionfruits and apricots as well.
- ⅔ cup of spinach leaves
- 2 cups of coconut water
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 cup of strawberries
- ½ an avocado, peeled
- 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
- Combine the avocado, blueberries, strawberries in a food processor or blender and pulse until chopped up and smooth.
- Add the coconut water, spinach and hemp seeds to the berry mixture and process until well incorporated.
